Andrew Ball
Director of Choral Music
Andrew Ball holds a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from CSU Fullerton and a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a Teaching Credential from UC Irvine. He studied with distinguished conductors Joseph Huszti, Stephen Tucker, Christopher Gravis, Robert Istad, and Christopher Peterson.
Since 2014, Ball has served as Director of Vocal Music at Corona del Mar High School and Middle School in Newport Beach, where he leads nine ensembles, including the international award-winning Madrigal Singers. With them, he has performed across the United States and in more than half a dozen countries.
Ball has sung with Men in Blaque since 2010 and served as co-conductor from 2021 through 2025. Outside of music, he enjoys escape rooms, improv, and superhero movies, and embraces his eccentric side—something his puppet, Maurice, wholeheartedly confirms.
Evangeliya Denzonas
Accompanist
Dr. Evangeliya Delizonas is an award-winning pianist, educator, and chamber musician who joined the CdM Vocal Music Department as a collaborative pianist in 2025. She has worked extensively with vocalists, instrumentalists, dancers, conductors, choirs, and opera productions throughout her career. Her previous appointments include collaborative positions with the Moscow State Bolshoi Ballet Academy of Choreography, the Vocal Department of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, the Instrumental, Vocal, and Opera Departments at USC Thornton School of Music, and the Vocal Department at the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music. Alongside her collaborative career, Dr. Delizonas has made appearances in recital throughout the United States and Europe, performing at many distinguished venues, including Carnegie Weill Recital Hall and Merkin Concert Hall in New York; the Soka Performing Arts Center in California; Alfred Cortot Hall and Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris; the Palace of the United Nations in Geneva; the Lithuanian National Philharmonic in Vilnius; the Latvian Academy of Music in Riga; the Austrian–Russian Culture Institute in Vienna; Athens Conservatoire; the Beethoven Concert Hall of Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow; and the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall of the Moscow ​Philharmonic.
A prizewinner in numerous international competitions, Dr. Delizonas received First Prize in the USC Concerto Competition (2024) and Les Grands Concours Internationaux d'Été (2023), as well as Third Prize at the NTD International Piano Competition in New York (2022). Born into a family of musicians, she began studying piano at the age of three and made her orchestral debut at the age of five. She entered the Central Music School of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory in 1998, where she studied with Tamara Koloss. She went on to earn Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctor of Arts degrees from the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory under Professor Ludmila Roshchina. She later continued her training in the United States on a full tuition scholarship at Park University's International Center for Music, earning an Artist Diploma in Piano Performance under Van Cliburn Gold Medalist Stanislav Ioudenitch. In 2025, she completed her Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance at the USC Thornton School of Music under Stewart Gordon, where she also served as a Graduate Assistant Lecturer and received the Outstanding Keyboard Studies Top Graduate Award. In 2025, she also joined the keyboard faculty at the Chapman University Hall-Musco Conservatory of Music As an educator and collaborative artist, Dr. Delizonas combines the traditions of the Russian piano school with the diverse perspectives of the American musical tradition, encouraging students to develop strong musicianship, artistic curiosity, and a deeper connection to the collaborative process of making music. Outside of the learning environment, she enjoys classical literature, poetry, and arthouse cinema, which continue to inspire her artistic perspective and approach to music-making.
