Student Music Council

Our Three Teams

Concert Development 

Responsible for the development of the actual concert, including discussions of theme, decorations, stage preparation/management, house preparation/management, organization of volunteers, etc

 

Marketing 

Responsible for Video development, fliers/posters design, Social Media outreach, ticket design, connection with Trident and ASB, managing caroling performances, photography and documentation, and other promotional outreach.

Community Development

Responsible for the planning and promotion of social events (Music Mixer, retreats, bonfire, awards potluck, etc). Also responsible for organizing social outreach events such as Auditionpalooza, recruitment events, etc.

Positions

General Representative

  • Serves as a member on one of our three teams (Concert Development, Marketing, or Community Development)

  • Helps with various tasks and projects, such as: Concert set-up & tear down, recording & photography, publicity, obtaining items & supplies for events/projects, help with classroom clerical tasks

 

President(s) of Concert Development

  • Leads the Concert Development team

  • Co-leads Council meetings with other presidents and Mr. Ball

  • Collaborates with Instrumental president to prepare for joint meetings and events

  • Connects with Parent Board for any parent needs

  • Act as liaison between Mr. Ball and their respective team

 

President(s) of Marketing

  • Leads the Marketing team

  • Delegates the maintenance of our various Online presences (Website, facebook, instagram, youtube, TikTok etc)

  • Co-leads Council meetings with other presidents and Mr. Ball

  • Collaborates with Instrumental president to prepare for joint meetings and events

  • Manage caroling schedule and communication with potential clients

  • Act as liaison between Mr. Ball and their respective team

President(s) of Community Development

  • Leads the Community Development team

  • Plans and organizes Music social events (Music Mixer, movie nights, bonfires, etc)

  • Responsible for aiding Mr. Ball in the organization of outreach events such as Auditionpalooza, recruitment events, etc.

  • Co-leads Council meetings with other presidents and Mr. Ball

  • Collaborates with Instrumental president to prepare for joint meetings and events

  • Act as liaison between Mr. Ball and their respective team

  • Maintains communication with Madrigal Singers and with Vocal Music about social events

 

House Manager/Assistant House Manager

  • Responsible for setting up and tearing down (or delegation thereof) all things relevant to the management of audience members on the day of the performance.

  • Responsible for recruiting ushers for each show and assigning them roles (Community service hours can be given for Ushering work, as long as the appropriate papers make it to Mr. Ball to sign)

  • Coordinates set up/tear down of areas such as donations, tickets,concessions, etc, and makes sure they are properly staffed

  • Serves on the Concert Development team

 

Stage Manager/Assistant Stage Manager

  • Responsible for either running lights/sound during concerts and rehearsals, or making sure they are properly staffed and the people staffing them are adequately trained and informed

  • Coordinates with Mr. Ball and whoever CdM’s Theater Tech is in order to make sure all needs of the performance are addressed

  • Ideally able to meet with Mr. Ball before major concerts (Winter/Summer) to design lighting

  • Serves on the Concert Development Team

 

Construction Team

  • Makes themselves available for the purpose of set up, tear down, and cleaning

 

Head of Construction

  • Coordinates construction team

  • Checks in with Community and Concert Development Presidents regarding their needs for various events
